Refund & Cancellation Policy

How the free trial converts, how to stop a subscription, and when we give money back.

Effective 9 August 2026 · Last updated 9 August 2026

Plain-language summary, not a substitute for the detail below. Paid plans start with a 3-day free trial and you add a card up front, so on day 4 the card is charged automatically unless you cancel first. Cancel any time from Manage subscription in your account — that opens Stripe’s billing portal. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not advertise a blanket money-back guarantee, but we do refund the cases listed in section 5, including any charge you did not intend that you tell us about within 14 days. This policy was written by the people who run Crammy and has not been reviewed by a lawyer; it is not legal advice, and if you need legal certainty you should take your own.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to everything you can pay for on Crammy: subscription plans, one-time token packs, and gift subscriptions. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and the words defined there mean the same thing here.

The free plan is not covered by any of this, because there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. It is free indefinitely, needs no card, and does not end when a paid plan does.

2. The 3-day free trial

Every paid plan starts with a 3-day free trial if you have not had one before. This is the part of billing that surprises people most often, so here it is exactly:

Trials are one per customer, tracked against your Stripe customer record and your account email — not against your browser. If you have subscribed before, checkout starts the plan and charges it immediately instead; the Stripe checkout page shows which of the two is happening before you pay.

Gift purchases never include a trial. A gift is bought outright so the code you hand over is worth something the moment it is redeemed.

3. How to cancel

You can cancel yourself, at any time, without talking to anybody:

  1. Open Crammy and go to your account (the plan or crown control in the app).
  2. Choose Manage subscription or cancel. That opens Stripe’s billing portal for your account, where you can cancel the subscription, switch plan, update the card, and download past invoices.
  3. Confirm the cancellation in the portal. Stripe emails you a confirmation.

If the button does not work for you — for example you are signed in on a device that has never held the licence — use Restore purchase on the same screen first, or simply email dinardogeorge68@gmail.com and we will cancel it for you. Email is a supported cancellation route, not a runaround; you never have to get the portal working to get out of a subscription.

Cancelling in the portal is the only cancellation we can act on automatically. Deleting the app from your home screen, clearing your browser storage, signing out, or letting a card expire does not cancel a subscription — Stripe will keep trying to bill the card on file.

4. What happens to your access after you cancel

Cancelling stops future charges. It does not claw back the period you have already paid for.

You cancel…You are chargedPaid access runs until
During the 3-day trialNothingThe end of the trial
On a monthly planNothing furtherThe end of the current month you paid for
On an annual planNothing furtherThe end of the current year you paid for

When that period ends, your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you made is deleted: decks, notes, custom courses, streaks, progress and study history stay with you, and any AI credits still in your balance stay spendable. Free access does not expire.

5. Refunds on subscriptions

Crammy does not advertise an unconditional money-back guarantee, because we would rather publish the cases we will actually honour than a promise with fine print under it. We refund the following in full, and you do not have to argue for them:

Annual plans

Within 14 days of an annual charge we refund it in full. After 14 days an annual plan is not automatically refundable, but write to us anyway — if you have barely used the year, we would rather return the money than hold it. Any refund we agree is pro-rated on whole unused months.

What we generally do not refund

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. We issue them within 5 business days of agreeing one; your bank then typically takes a further 5–10 business days to show it. We cannot pay a refund to a different card, to a bank transfer, or as store credit.

6. A refund ends paid access immediately

This is the one asymmetry worth knowing about. Cancelling lets you keep the paid features until the end of the period. A refund does not — when the money goes back, the licence is revoked straight away and the account drops to the free plan, usually within a minute or two. The same happens on a chargeback.

So if you are near the end of a period you have paid for and you are happy to use it out, cancel rather than ask for a refund. If you want the money back, expect the access to stop with it.

7. Token packs

Token packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Buying one charges you once, adds AI credits to your balance, and sets nothing up to recur. There is nothing to cancel, and no trial applies to them.

8. Gift subscriptions

A gift is paid for in full at checkout and produces a redemption code for the person you are giving it to.

9. Changing plan, and price changes

Upgrading or downgrading is done in the same billing portal as cancelling. Stripe calculates any proration for the change; the portal shows the amount before you confirm it.

Changing plan should never leave you with two live subscriptions. If it does, tell us — that is a duplicate charge under section 5 and we refund it.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand and the new price only applies from your next renewal, so you always have the chance to cancel first. A price change is never applied to a period you have already paid for.

10. Please email us before you dispute a charge

If a charge looks wrong, write to dinardogeorge68@gmail.com before opening a dispute with your bank. Refunding you directly takes us minutes; a chargeback takes weeks, costs us a fee on top of the refunded amount, and revokes your access exactly the same way.

We will not punish anyone for disputing a charge in good faith. We do close accounts that use chargebacks to keep access without paying — see the acceptable-use section of the Terms.

11. If you are outside the United States

Nothing in this policy takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.

In particular, if you are a consumer in the UK or EU you generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Because Crammy gives you the service immediately, you are asking us to begin during that period; where you have used the service, we may reduce a withdrawal refund proportionately to what you used. Our 14-day windows in sections 5 and 7 are meant to sit alongside that right, not to replace it.

All plans are priced and charged in US dollars. Local amounts shown on the pricing page are indicative conversions only. Exchange rates and foreign-transaction fees are set by your bank and are not something we can refund.

12. How to reach us

Billing, cancellations and refunds: dinardogeorge68@gmail.com. One small team reads it, not a call centre, so please include:

We aim to answer billing email within 2 business days, and most billing questions are settled the same week.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of the page always reflects the current version, and the version in force when you were charged is the one that applies to that charge.

If a change materially reduces what we refund, we will email subscribers before it takes effect.
